MID Century

Freshness and tranquility describe the MID Century house, a renovation project in the centre of Valencia where life flows among noble materials accented with steel, surprising curved forms, and the embrace of an immense terrace that nourishes every room.
‘Designing a home’ from the warmth of materials and lighting. Understanding the lifestyle of those who will inhabit a space in order to design it meaningfully is what we define as ‘the luxury of space’.
Mediterranean calmness and freshness define the design of this home through an efficient layout and the timelessness of its materials.

Two balanced cores structure this urban home in perfect harmony with its exterior, where the pure and structured lines recall the intelligent simplicity of Mid Century houses. This connecting area serves as a transition between the public zone, integrating the living room, dining room, and kitchen, and the private zone where the suite with bedroom and study is located, along with one of the house’s jewels, the main bathroom.

Without ruptures or discordances, oak wood, natural granite stone, and brushed stainless steel provide a balance in tune with the carefully considered geometry of the home.

A clever exercise in curvature applied to carpentry, ceilings, and partitions, turning the inevitable low ceilings of the building and the depth of its floor plan—two attributes characteristic of Mid Century architecture—into a way to enhance the sense of serenity and the flow of natural light from its large windows.

Thanks to an integrated lighting solution, each scene in the home achieves efficient lighting, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The main bathroom is the greatest example, where light becomes a corporeal element through a backlit natural granite stone wall.

The terrace that articulates the home is the perfect place to create an authentic Mediterranean garden. A space that connects the interior and exterior, making the views of the urban landscape a significant part of the home’s architecture.
